With the beginning of the quay and dredging works, a major step forward has been taken to transform PSA Panama International Terminal into a 2 million-TEU (20-foot equivalent units) facility.

This activity presents a rare opportunity to gather PSA’s 100+ workforce in a single place. The occasion was appropriate to share year-to-date results regarding safety and productivity KPIs, progress on the terminal expansion project, as well as human development initiatives and innovations that will make PSA Panama a more agile and efficient company.

As part of PSA International’s sustainability initiatives, PSA Panama International Terminal employees, along with representatives of the Ministry of Environment and students of the Panama International Maritime University (UMIP) partnered in an activity of planting native species.

The expansion project for PSA Panama International Terminal has taken center stage at business and academic forums in the country.

Striving to build a more robust safety culture, the Health, Safety, Security and Environment team at PSA Panama International Terminal conducted a series of trainings covering subjects such as LOTO procedures (lock out-tag out), management of hazardous material and hydrocarbon spills.

“We reaffirm the Government of the Republic of Panama will continue working very closely with PSA Panama International and we are sure at the end of the expansion development of this terminal, our country will have cutting edge facilities to service container ships with a capacity of 18.000 containers (TEU)”, said the President.
