PSA Panama promotes safety culture through training and awareness
These trainings have the purpose to promote safe conducts toward occupational risks or hazards in PPIT personnel while better suiting them to understand the company’s risk management initiatives and effectively contribute to their identification, assessment and control.
“Our goal is for people at PSA to become aware of their role in maintaining an incident-free workplace, for themselves and their coworkers, and sharing safety culture in their homes,” said Melbins Gonzalez, HSSE manager at PPIT.
Additionally, PPIT personnel learned about fire prevention and use of fire extinguishers as well as first aid, automated external defibrillator use and emergency evacuations. Participants are eligible to become part of PPIT’s safety brigade.
An estimate of 700 man hours were invested in these trainings.
